Daniel spoke to parents and education advocates about some of the challenges that New York City families are facing regarding student transportation within the NYC Department of Education. I’ll speak to parent advocates, Sara Catalinotto and Johnnie Stevens, from an advocacy organization called Parents To Improve School Transportation about the DOE’s SCHOOL TRANSPORTATION crisis, especially how it's affecting students with IEPs and their families. He also spoke to Shamel Lawrence, member of the Citywide Council for District 75, Paulette Healy, Vice President of the Citywide Council for Special Education, and Chrystal Covington, Occupational Therapist and Parent of an NYC IEP student, about how that crisis is affecting our IEP students, especially District 75 students.
