Interview with NY Sen. John Liu & two new parent activists appointed to the PEP

Leonie interviews Sen. John Liu about the recent mass shootings and whether meaningful gun legislation may pass in NY, what's going on with negotiations over extending mayoral control & reducing class size in the last few days of Legislative session, and the agreement by DOE to produce a new AAPI curriculum. Then she spoke to two new borough appointees to the Panel for Educational Policy, our NYC school board: Dr. Kaliris Salas Ramirez of Manhattan and Tazin Azad of Brooklyn, about their backgrounds in parent advocacy, why they decided to join the PEP, and their recent votes on DOE spending and the budget.
