Leonie talks to Rep. Jamaal Bowman, former Bronx middle school principal, who was elected in 2020 to represent the 16th Congressional district that covers parts of the Bronx and Westchester. He spoke about what he was surprised about Congress, , his "Green New Deal for Schools", the importance of protecting student privacy, why he is proposing to to eliminate the federal mandate for annual standardized testing, and how the Democratic Party should propose and publicize a more positive, active message on public schools before the midterms.
